Saint Augustine’s is a place of Community. Please see our various community groups below, from small faith sharing communities to luncheons to young adult and family gatherings. All are welcome in this place!
Please visit the Our Parishioners page to hear from parishioners in our own words.
You can contact the St. Augustine Parish Office by email or phone (510) 653-8631 unless otherwise indicated.
Families
Parents of children from infancy through high school gather to build community and support one another. Meetings are usually held on Sunday mornings from 9:15-10:15 while children attend age-appropriate faith formation classes. Topics vary by the week but include things such as Taking Back Your Time, Praying with Children: Mealtime Songs and Bedtime Blessings, Keeping Your Love Relationship Strong While Raising Children, Reclaiming Your Kids from Consumer Culture, etc. During six week periods in the fall and spring the parents group uses the material from the parish’s small faith sharing group as its reflection material.
Young Adults
Taking to heart the parish’s mission of offering a place to belong and a way to believe, St. Augustine Young Adult Ministry serves the spiritual needs of seekers in their 20s and 30s. In worshiping together, in building community with one another and the world around us, in serving the needs of the most vulnerable in our church and in our world, we attempt to put our faith into action. If you are interested in receiving more information about the group, please email Richard Kearney at rkearney89@gmail.com. or call Karen Glen, Ministry Coordinator, at (510) 653-8631 x102
